Product overview

Dexlansoprazole, the R-enantiomer of lansoprazole, is a proton pump inhibitor used for GERD and erosive oesophagitis, typically delivered as dual delayed-release capsules.

Pharmaceutical pellets are small, free-flowing spherical units filled into capsules or compressed into MUPS tablets. Dividing a dose across many pellets gives more reproducible gastric transit and release than a single-unit tablet.

Formulation and release profile

Dual delayed-release (DDR) products combine two populations of enteric-coated pellets that dissolve at different pH levels, giving two release phases from a single capsule.

Pharmaceutical applications

  • Capsule filling of dexlansoprazole ddr pellets for acid-suppression products.
  • Multiparticulate dosage forms where reproducible release matters.
  • Formulation development, scale-up and commercial supply programmes.
