Esomeprazole, the S-isomer of omeprazole, is a proton pump inhibitor used for GERD, erosive oesophagitis and prevention of NSAID-associated ulcers.
Pharmaceutical pellets are small, free-flowing spherical units filled into capsules or compressed into MUPS tablets. Dividing a dose across many pellets gives more reproducible gastric transit and release than a single-unit tablet.
Formulation and release profile
